Well, Well, Well let's see how hypocritical I can get in one breath. "like, comment, subscribe!" is the call to arms of the youtube generation. On the surface and to the ears this sounds, harmless and fun. It helps feed the algorithm to what is popular at the moment and can be very beneficial to the content creators and artists. like anything in life moderation is vital, when blasted after every single video with this phrase it seems more harmful than beneficial, especially for the fan/viewer. Constantly being told, sometimes using empathy "triggers" as means by which to solicit action. On a large scale, it can feel like brainwashing. When thoughts follow encouraging you to abide like "it's the least I can do," before you know it you get a notification every two seconds reminding you to check back in. don't miss anything! fear of missing out becomes an echo in your head. let's talk about this. is this what is best for us? notifications constantly reminding us to come back like a drug that can actually talk. commenting can be a beautiful tool of communication on large and small scales. scroll through any comment thread on any large channel and witness the amount of hate and anger being thrown around. Let's talk about this? is this the best way? I love Youtube and use it multiple times a day. i have had to train myself around the toxic loops and red flag areas. So again let's talk about it. afthepodcast@gmail.com
