Description

Dr Helen Douglas is an author, editor and advocate. Helen spent 20 years in academia before a challenging surgical menopause at the age of 41 prompted a change in career. Helen writes on subjects society typically prefers to ignore, including menopause, adverse childhood experiences, and shame. Helen is founder of the Dignified Menopause initiative, co-founder at the Menopause Inclusion Collective, and a trustee and volunteer at Menopause Café. Helen describes herself as a slow runner, medium paced indoor-rower, and she lives in deepest Scotland with a bear called Willoughby. In her spare time she doodles about a little blue hen called Maude
