You are NOT the Centre of the Entire Universe!
It's true! As my granny would have said, "Catch yourselves on - who exactly do you think you are?" We are told nowadays that we should have self-esteem, follow our hearts and do what makes us happy. Paul's instructions to Christians in Romans gives us lifestyle instructions that are greatly different. He wrote, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3.
We should be looking at our own lives with a serious dose of self-criticism! yet at the same time, believers have each a unique place in the body of Christ, and there, - every one of us is important; so much so that we MUST play our part. Paul: 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith. Romans 12:4-6
Let's get some perspective on our lives! This episode is an extract from a sermon preached at Templepatrick Reformed Church, Northern Ireland.
