You are NOT the Centre of the Entire Universe!

It's true!  As my granny would have said, "Catch yourselves on - who exactly do you think you are?"  We are told nowadays that we should have self-esteem, follow our hearts and do what makes us happy.  Paul's instructions to Christians in Romans gives us lifestyle instructions that are greatly different.  He wrote, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3.

We should be looking at our own lives with a serious dose of self-criticism!  yet at the same time, believers have each a unique place in the body of Christ, and there, - every one of us is important; so much so that we MUST play our part.  Paul: For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith.  Romans 12:4-6

Let's get some perspective on our lives!  This episode is an extract from a sermon preached at Templepatrick Reformed Church, Northern Ireland.
