Description

Former Republic of Ireland and Premier League footballer Niall Quinn joins us to reflect on his amazing sporting life.

Prior to leaving for the 'Sasanach game', Niall's adventure began when he won a Leinster Minor hurling championship with Dublin in 1983 and contested an All-Ireland Minor hurling final in the same year. With strong family roots in Tipperary, Niall credits his Mam and Dad for an upbringing steeped in the GAA, which highlights the importance of a parents’ role in fostering a child's interest in sport.

The theme of self-belief features throughout, and we gain a fascinating insight into how a technique of 'mental cocooning' can benefit performance on the field.

Every Tuesday well known Irish stars will share memories from their early sporting careers and reflect on the defining moments from playing Minor and how that shaped them both on and off the pitch.
