Meet Dr. Cynthia Feleppa, a Latina army dentist and mom with a unique and inspiring story. Raised in Queens, NY, with a strong Latino influence, Dr. Feleppa achieved her dream of becoming a dentist and served in the US Army.
During her deployment to the Kuwaiti desert, she met her husband, a fellow serviceman, and together they have been married for 15 years and are raising a special needs son. Dr. Feleppa’s son has faced numerous challenges, including brain surgery to remove a third of his brain due to intractable seizures and complications that left him with cerebral palsy.
Despite these struggles, Dr. Feleppa remains dedicated to her roles as a special needs mom, advocate, case manager, and wife and makes the most of the time she has left with her loved ones by filling it with authentic experiences, love, and laughter.
Dr. Feleppa enjoys making pizza, weightlifting, and dancing in her free time. Tune in to The Mint Door Podcast, to hear more about her journey, the triumphs and challenges of military life, and parenting a child with special needs.
