In light of recent happenings, The Shushbox team have an unfiltered conversation about the new Texas Abortion Ban.

"Progressive and Heartbroken.

Those are the two words that are really coming up.

Heartbroken from the fact that this is something that even needs to be discussed at this level, the amount of people that it is going to affect in the future, the amount of people that it is affecting right now who have had abortions and just having this flare up in the law, triggering them as well.

And then then progression of OK what are we going to do about it."

The US supreme court refused to block a Texas Abortion law, which basically prevents women from having an abortion after the 6 week mark. With absolutely no exceptions, even in cases of rape and incest. The court voted 5 to 4 against blocking the countries most radical law which will impact over 7 million women of child bearing years, living in one of the biggest state in the country.

The decision goes against the famous 1973 Roe Vs Wade which was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. This usually could be any time up until a foetus can survive outside of the womb. Which is normally between 22-24 weeks of pregnancy.

Here’s a list of organizations advocating and fighting for women’s rights in Texas for those who want to support:
