This week's episode is giving Grab Bag: random bouts of Bravo recommendations, then 2 random rom com choices: The Other Zoey (2023) and When in Rome (2010). Both movies have a ton of classic rom com tropes, but the Other Zoey is a winning new generation era movie, and When in Rome could happily be left in 2010. If you're a fan of Drew Starkey, Josephine Langford, Archie Renaux, Kristen Bell, or Josh Duhamel this episode may be for you.
The Other Zoey is almost a reimagining of While You Were Sleeping with a Gen Z twist. It is full of references to older rom coms as well. When in Rome is a magical realism spoof gone awry with Kristen Bell getting chased by 5 paramours due to an incident she caused in Rome at her sister's wedding. While not as enjoyable in plot, if you're a millennial, the soundtrack will bring you back to your glory days.
