Description

Chalky Hill is one of the most notable drummers and multi talented individuals in the Australian Thrash/metal scene.

Known for his work with Odius and Deraign, Chalky recently released his debut solo album Remains With Pain under the name Militaria, a project that he has patiently crafted over several years and recruited some of Aussie thrash’s heavy hitters to contribute like members of Wartooth, Odius, Asylum, Idle Ruin, Bone Marrow, Seraphic and Deraign.

Comprising of nine tracks of pure thrash mayhem, Remains With Pain is conceptually based around the Vietnam War and the bravery and desolation felt by those who fought it and inspired by the mastery of Sodom’s 1989 release Agent Orange.

The Everblack Podcast caught up with Chalky Hill to talk about his solo project Militaria, the concept behind the debut album ‘Remains With Pain’ and the various legends he recruited to guest on it, his work as a video content creator with Mosh riff creative, translating the songs to a live setting and more!
