On this podcast where we explore poetry and its powerful hold on us, we are exploring the theme of bullying on what is Anti-Bullying awareness week. So many of us have unfortunately had the experience of either being bullied or witnessing bullying and we need to keep fighting against this act of hate and fear by not shying away from talking about it. By standing up to it, we can begin to take control and show those who choose to belittle and undermine that they ultimately will not win the war, even if they think they've won the battle!
Join myself and other poets as we share our experiences and empower ourselves by taking control of parts of our lives when we were most vulnerable. There is a trigger warning on several poems, one which is about domestic violence and a book extract that refers to self harming. If you would like to listen but are worried that the content may trigger you, perhaps listen with a friend or someone you trust or skip past the triggering content, there are warnings throughout the podcast.
