British Boxing champion Amir Khan chats to TSB about his career in boxing, his thoughts on South Asian communities taking up the sport and more.
Khan won his first Olympic silver medal in boxing at the age of 17, making him the youngest British boxer to win the medal. Among many accolades, Khan held the WBA title, WBC Silver Welterweight and IBF title. He announced his retirement in May 2022, with a record of 34 wins from 40 fights.
He was crucial in putting South Asians on the map of the boxing world, and said he’s determined to assist more in his community to take up the sport.
