Description

Practicing ownership involves taking POSSESSION of several key areas of life:

FIRST: Take possession of the Personal: Own your actions, decisions, and growth.

JOCKO - “If you don’t own it, you can’t change it.”

Acknowledge mistakes and learn from them to improve continuously

Your Top 5%

SECOND Take possession of the Professional: If you aren’t learning….you aren’t leading. In the workplace, take responsibility for both successes and failures.

ACTION ITEMS:

  1. Lead by example, (“It’s not what you preach, it’s what you tolerate.” JOCKO)
  2. prioritize tasks, and
  3. execute plans effectively

THIRD Take possession of YOUR Relationships

I heard Jeff Henderson say, “Your network determines your networth.”

Foster trust and accountability by taking responsibility for your role in your network of personal and professional relationships.

Do you want to be rich?

Do this...

FORTH Take possession of the Leadership: As a leader, ensure team success by accepting responsibility for the PROCESS, coaching your team, and fostering a culture of accountability.

ACTION ITEMS:

  1. Focus more on the process…you can’t control the outcomes
  2. Coach your team to create not only accountability but ENGAGEMENT. ENGAGEMENT in the workplace is absent and I believe is the root cause of discontentment, turn-over, low-level performance and the underdevelopment of leadership
  3. Accountability reinforces culture
