Description

Hello people, welcome to the When In Yorkshire Podcast, I hope you’re all well and this is a treat of an episode for anyone who likes to know about the hidden workings of the live music or live performance industry as I get to chat with one of the nicest guys about all things in the world of production and lighting design.

This is episode 56 and features Tom Campbell who I met up with in Leeds whilst he was on tour making Skunk Anansie look stunning and for me, it created a whole new experience as a piece of performance with clear nods to the themes of Post Orgasmic Chill but pulled into the present.

This was a chat that could quite easily have gone on for many hours and if I wasn’t aware that I was holding Tom back from eating, I might have been tempted to continue it for another 20 mins!

Tom gives a great insight into the way he approaches production design, his journey to where he is and some of the gigs that inspired and influenced him.

We also chat about his crew focused clothing and accessories brand stndy which produces high-quality good-looking gear suitable for the challenges faced by touring crew worldwide. Now, I may not be part of that world but will be upgrading my podcast equipment bag to their stab proof beautiful backpack. I have posted a link to the site and you can use the promo code WIY10 for 10% off your order. These are ethically sourced and produced garments and items that look great and will withstand the challenges of your life. Check them out.
