In this episode of the podcast we talk about what the judges actually look for when we show a dog. This includes Dog Breed Standards and how the dog needs to be fit for purpose. We look at what fit for purpose means and the concept of best practice judging.
We also look at what happens if a dog doesn't meet every criteria and how judges focus on the dog’s positives and on how many of the dogs attributes meet the standard.
Finally we discuss purebred dogs and how to know if your dog is purebred, why its so difficult to find a purebred dog today and how mixed breeds are becoming a part of the dog show world.
