CREDITS: Thank you for listening to Ochenta Stories, this story was written by Rushda Rafeek. Rushda is currently based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Her work has appeared in numerous literary journals and has been shortlisted for the Wasafiri New Writing Prize UK in 2017, nominated for the Pushcart Prize twice and has won the Nazim Hikmet Prizerr in 2018. The Arabic version of the story was voiced by Zeina Abouelmakarem, while the sound design of the piece was done by Chiara Santella.
