Description

This week, Hannah takes Stephanie back in time with Sherwood Anderson’s Winesburg, Ohio. Although she loves this book, Hannah is confident Stephanie will hate it.

On the eve of the Industrial Revolution, the inhabitants of Winesburg, Ohio feel isolated from both the broader world and from their neighbors. As they tentatively reach out to each other and to George Willard, the town’s lone journalist, their attempts to combat their growing sense of alienation leave them feeling more lonely than ever. Join Stephanie and Hannah as they discuss the merits [or lack thereof] of these deeply troubled characters, the author that brought them to life, and their place in the literary canon.
