Kwakye is a passionate advocate for the continent’s tourism industry. With a wealth of experience in finance, marketing, and tourism, Kwakye has been at the forefront of advocating for intra-Africa travel, stronger collaboration, and improved competitiveness.

To that end, Kwakye has proposed the formation of a Presidential Council on Tourism, which would focus on issues such as visa and connectivity, and is also leading the initiative of the Africa Tourism Innovation Hub, a continent-wide initiative to invest in technology and skills development across the industry. Donkor is also responsible for the successful implementation of the Botswana Fest, which serves as a case study to help other countries in their tourism initiatives, as well as the African MICE Master Class, which has been running for the past five years to bring the mice component into the industry.

Kwakye is also passionate about domestic and regional tourism, and is excited about the innovation that has arisen in the industry. He advises entrepreneurs in the industry to have a mentor and to start small, focusing on local markets before expanding to international markets. Kwakye stresses that the industry is hard work and requires a lot of dedication, so it is important to have a passion for it.
