GRAMMYS 2025 and DENIAL IS A RIVER BY DOECHII: Reviewed!

Welcome pod lovers. pod haters and pod tolerators! Yo yo yo, what’s good, what’s good? I’m sure loads is good to be fair to you. You’re …. (*drumroll*) … HERE, aren’t you!? Woo hoo! Season 5. This is the season Monica and Chandler sneaked around behind every one’s backs so you know what that means right … no neither do we, that’s not a workable analogy for us right now. We’re a two man podcast. But we do like special guests. We can’t wait for more. It could be you. Please know that if you are reading these sentences then it surely WILL be you in the not too distant future.

Just drop us a line at cccappraisalhour@gmail.com and we’ll see you soon. We might have to interview you and get a few references first, but that’s all a formality really. And thanks again to Alistair for featuring on another special last week. We will sort out what all those convoluted scores meant on our award winning website https://www.cccappraisalhour.show at some point soon.

Gentlemen, start your engines! The race begins. What else do they say at the start of races? I don’t know, no one pitched Drive to Survive …

The 67th edition of The Grammys is hard to locate, depending on which country you live in. So hey, idk man, find it yourself. Or just read the Wikipedia, as I’m sure Christopher was tempted to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/67th_Annual_Grammy_Awards

The New York Times’ Popcast previewed the Grammys and that preview lives here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4zPhdjAkqU

Popcast reviewed the Grammys and that review lives here (let’s showcase another platform, change it up): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/why-we-still-think-the-grammys-are-good-now/id120315823?i=1000689060054

Stereogum did a laudable job of lauding the Grammys: https://www.stereogum.com/2295418/in-a-world-thats-gone-to-shit-somehow-the-grammys-were-good/columns/sounding-board/

A supercut of Taylor Swift having a great time at the Grammys lives here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqRJv5Hyqk4

If we had to choose one representative clip to showcase this year’s Grammys let’s go for Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock performing Bluesette and We Are The World (*pop*) and that clip lives here (shout out the greatest night in *pop*): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzVcr6bar9U

We should also show you that Doechii performing Denial Is A River and Catfish at the Grammys (for the Best New Artist segment) lives here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyoLUYKn5Kk

Special FAVE MOMENT FROM THE POD RECORD note for VIP read-the-whole-show-notes-members only: When Christopher said “good for you!” after Jeffrey’s impassioned attempt to cement the CCCAH tradition of watching the Grammys every year as good for US! We also had a lot of expectations going into this week’s pitches. More than usual! So enjoy imagining an episode in another timeline in which we’re reviewing the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live and either Her or Ed TV next week!
