Humble yourselves therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 (ESV)
As we watch television, read social media fact and fiction information, talk to family and friends we often feel anxious, afraid, worried and stressed. So many wars, so much poverty, health issues, so much conflict in our country and our neighborhoods. It’s frightening. We sometimes forget to look to the only One who can calm our worried minds and hearts, the One whose mighty hand we are under.
Friends, we can feel secure because our Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally. Regardless of what is happening in the world, in our country or in our personal lives, we must strive to do less worrying and become more dependent on God.
Let us pray:
Holy and precious Father, we thank you for never leaving or forsaking us. When we are going through stress, hardship and grief, please help us to remember that You hold the universe in Your hands. You will get us through. We trust you Lord and we thank you.
Amen.
