Welcome to What The Heck season 3! This podcast explores unexplained phenomena using stories gathered from various sources, then applies an academic research method to find theories and solutions for each one. So far, we've been unsuccessful in finding any concrete answers, but one of the stories we've covered has been solved. This week your host, Glen, is going to look at Tthe dark and deep webs. Most people have heard of the deep web and the dark web, but some don't know what they are really. This week, we're looking into the internet to discover what they are and how each part differs. The terms dark web and deep web are often used interchangeably, but each one is a different part of the internet and it's important to make sure we know which one we're referring to. Instead of theories this week, we'll be looking into the history of the internet and how the deep and dark webs came to be. We'll also be looking at how the deep web has been shaped by government involvement. What are the deep and dark webs? What are they used for? Are they only used for nefarious purposes, or is there some good inside? Join Glen as he tells the story and looks at all the theories!
