In the latest episode of the FILMS I OWN BUT HAVEN'T WATCHED YET podcast, a special spin-off from WN MOVIE TALK PODCAST, I dive into another film from my ever-expanding DVD collection. This week, I randomly selected the western remake "3:10 to Yuma." Join me as I watch it for the first time and share my review!
"3:10 to Yuma" (2007) is a modern remake of the classic 1957 western, directed by James Mangold. The film stars Russell Crowe as notorious outlaw Ben Wade and Christian Bale as Dan Evans, a struggling rancher. To save his land and support his family, Evans volunteers to escort the captured Wade to the train that will take him to trial. As they journey to the train station, they face numerous challenges, including attacks from Wade's gang, led by the ruthless Charlie Prince (Ben Foster). Throughout their perilous trek, a complex relationship develops between the honorable Evans and the charismatic but deadly Wade. "3:10 to Yuma" is acclaimed for its intense performances, gripping action sequences, and exploration of themes such as honor, justice, and redemption.
