In the latest episode of the FILMS I OWN BUT HAVEN'T WATCHED YET podcast, a special spin-off from WN MOVIE TALK PODCAST, I dive into another film from my ever-expanding DVD collection. This week, I randomly selected "Blade", starring Wesley Snipes, and also happens to be one of the first marvel movies. Join me as I watch it for the first time and share my review!

"Blade" (1998) is a dark and stylish action-horror film directed by Stephen Norrington, based on the Marvel Comics character. Wesley Snipes stars as Blade, a half-human, half-vampire warrior with all of the vampire strengths and none of their weaknesses, save for the thirst for blood. Born to a mother bitten by a vampire during childbirth, Blade dedicates his life to eradicating the vampire race. Alongside his mentor, Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), Blade takes on the powerful vampire leader Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff), who plans to bring about an ancient prophecy that would end humanity. Known for its ground-breaking action sequences, gothic atmosphere, and Snipes' iconic performance, "Blade" is a pioneering film that helped pave the way for the modern superhero genre.
