In this episode, Debbie discusses the process of change with her clients. When coming to her for help, clients have already identified something in their life that needs to be changed. Debbie then helps them to determine if they are ready for the change, and if not, what needs to be done to get them ready. She also helps them to identify the barriers that are holding them back and puts in strategies to help them overcome those barriers.

HIGHLIGHTS
You can go on a journey. And through that journey, it helps you to feel connected to something bigger. It's “How can I serve? How can I be part of the bigger community and the world around us? It's starting to notice what gives meaning to your life.” And that's going to be different for everybody.
We do develop all the time as we experience challenges in our lives, as we heal from those things, as we embark on new learning, and as we grow, that all shapes and changes our identity. I think most of you are listening. If you thought back to, say, a decade ago, you would recognize that elements of who you are and your personality have perhaps shaped and changed to the individual you are now. So it's recognizing that identity is changeable and you can be the person that you want to be.
It's about the way that you view yourself. It encompasses your memories, your experiences, your self esteem, and your self worth. It's what defines you as a person. And it's recognizing that that isn't concrete. Quite often, people will have limiting beliefs that, well, I am the way that I am. I can't change. I've had these problems. This is part of my identity. It isn't true. Identity is malleable. We can develop all of the time when we choose.
These are the fundamental beliefs that people hold dear to them and that govern their lives. And we all have lots of values and beliefs that impact us every day. Sometimes we're very consciously aware of them and other times they're going on at an unconscious level. This can be really helpful to us.
