In this episode of Tranquil Awakenings, host Debbie chats with Alex Mather as he shares his journey of being involved in the global corporate market whilst also opening up to spiritualism. Alex shares how from a young age he was aware of his mediumship skills, however these early experiences scared him and therefore he closed himself off to them.
His perception began to change after having experienced coaching and reading the book ‘Happy’ by Derren Brown. From here he opened up to the concept of developing his awareness, feeling an urge to incorporate spiritualism into his life.
During this discussion Alex communicates his journey of developing as a medium, sharing a fascinating and thought provoking experience of encountering the supernatural where Debbie came to his assistance.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- As you grow in awareness of yourself, you become more sensitive to the energy and intention of others.
- Once you develop awareness, you become effective at almost everything.
- Developing mediumship can change your outlook on life and diminish fear.
- Personal development is about progress over time. It is about having an awareness that you're not perfect, you are still going to have bad days and make mistakes, but it allows you to bring yourself back to a state of homeostasis, inner peace, and tranquillity.
- Stating that you are spiritual can create a sense of unease due to the reactions of others, however it is far more common and far reaching than we realise.
- The extra sensory awareness developed through spiritual connection goes beyond the five physical senses and learning how to navigate it healthily can be a useful skill.
- The importance of using energetic protection in spiritual based work.
BEST MOMENTS
- “I've got to be around people and developing people because of the energy, the actual energy it gives me and that physical element.”
- “When I was much younger, I became aware that I became aware of this connection and became curious about it.”
- “I must have been 12, 13 year old, I started to try and develop my relationship with spirit. And all that happened, I think, because of the age I was at and because of the things I experienced, it terrified me.”
- “I changed a tremendous amount of things in my life at that point and from there everything sort of started to go upwards in terms of positivity.”
- “I just had this idea one day, randomly, that I want to go to a spiritualist church.”
- “I went down to, this spiritualist church and I saw the medium's work at that open circle. And was astounded at some of the things that I saw and that I heard.”
- Spiritualism in itself is about developing a heightened sense of awareness. I think that if more people could appreciate what it, what it can potentially do for you in terms of a positive impact, then I think we'd probably have a happier future.”
- “I'm not a perfect example of awareness. I'm working on it all the time.”
