Description

Having fled Iran at the age 30 to England following a disastrous marriage in a country that is notorious for making it rather difficult for women to obtain a divorce, my next guest is an award winning food writer and photographer with a loyal following of over 30,000 loyal fans, inspired by Iranian cuisine.

Atoosa Sepehr is unlike any woman I've met before. Enduring a terrible and harmful marriage is one thing. Being in a country that makes it incredibly difficult to escape is another. Atoosa fled her home in the night, in secret, without knowing whether she would even be able to get a plane ticket.

Knowing only a handful of people on her arrival in the UK, Atoosa, as a way of coping with the hardships associated with being away from her family and loved ones, decided to cook the very food she grew up with.

The delightful smells and aromas soon got the attention of the people living in her building. The rest is history...

An Irish Times Best Foodbook of the year, a loyal following and worldwide fame for her passion, knowledge and dedication to exposing the beauty of Iranian culture and cuisine pales in comparison to her biggest achievement to date - a clear alignment of her passion with her career, and a rediscovering of her very own identity, cultivated over decades of pain, struggle and hardship.

I present to you... Atoosa Sepehr.
