'Perfect pop songs for a more daring and experimental age' is how they are described, and we find it's true as Leee swaps stories with Audrey Hall from the early days of Imagination to his magnificent 40th Anniversary Tour today.
Leee John came to the world’s attention with his group Imagination - one of the most unique, genre defining and flamboyant soul groups of the past three decades. With hits such as 'Body Talk', 'In And Out Of Love', 'Flashback', 'In The Heat Of The Night' and 'Just An Illusion', millions of singles were sold internationally and Imagination went platinum worldwide, with sales in excess of 30 million albums.
Leee's mother instilled deep community values within him, and from the days of Junior Murvin's 'Police & Thieves', to the impressive inventory of top-drawer projects as solo artist, songwriter and performer, actor and recently film producer, to Steve McQueen's film 'Red, White & Blue' from the award winning Small Axe trilogy, we find Leee still relevant, with nothing to prove, but plenty to say... heading back on stage celebrating over 40 years in the entertainment industry.
