Description

On this episode of the Filled Quiver Outdoors Podcast, I had the good fortune to learn from Matt Zudweg about a wide array of topics from the balsa flies he makes and sells on his website (which are better suited for a display shelf than a fish’s mouth) to birdwatching and inventing a fly tying tool.

If you live in one of the nearly 20 states which will see hatches from Broods XIII and XIX later this spring you don’t want to miss the pointers Matt gives on tying the Zuddy’s Cicada X. He also gave me some tips for tying a few other flies he created including the Zudbubbler and Big Bopper Hopper.

Before answering questions for a round of Me Too!, Matt opened up with the very personal story of his faith adventure.

You can buy materials to tie the flies discussed in the episode as well as swag with Matt’s artwork at www.boneyardflygear.com

If you’re interested in hiring Matt for a guide trip on the Muskegon River, you can get more info and start the booking process through the Feenstra Guide Service website by clicking here
