Description

“The forest is my church.” “My pew is strapped to a tree.” “I worship best in a blind.” “I’d rather be on the lake thinking about God than in church thinking about the lake.”

With hunting seasons opening, phrases like these will be increasingly spoken and posted on social media, but should they be said by Christians? Specifically, are these types of phrases scripturally and doctrinally sound? Are they just used as excuses not to attend a local Sunday, or is there an innocent misunderstanding of what scripture teaches the church is?

While these phrases can be worded for application to all outdoor activities my emphasis will be on hunting because for the first time, hunters in South Carolina, where I’m located, will be able to hunt public lands on Sundays.

In this special episode where the Think About It segment hijacks the entire show, I’ll give my thoughts on the subject along with references and questions so you can prayerfully think about it.
