THE SONG:

Maneater is a song by American Duo Hall & Oates, featured on their 11th studio album, H2O (1982).  Maneater reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on December 18th, 1982.  It spent four weeks at #1 in America, making it the biggest single US Hit of the 80’s to feature a sax solo.  It is one of several Hall & Oates songs that Daryl Hall’s long-time girlfriend Sara Allen is credited along with Hall & Oates. According to Hall, Allen convinced him to cut some additional words in the chorus which really made the song come together.  "Maneater" was used on the soundtrack to the Julia Roberts and Richard Gere movie Runaway Bride. John Oates and viral saxophone sensation Saxsquach released a version of Maneater in 2021.  In 2011, two fans set up a "Callin' Oates" hotline, where those in desperate need of a Hall & Oates song can get help. As of this post, to play "Maneater," call 719-26-OATES and press 3. Try it! Link to OfficialVideo
