THE SONG:
“She’s Crafty” by Beastie Boys was released in 1986 as part of their debut album “Licensed to Ill”. She’s Crafty achieved moderate success on the charts, peaking at number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song samples Led Zeppelin’s The Ocean, from their 1973 album, Houses of the Holy. Licensed to Ill became the first rap LP to top the Billboard Album chart and was one of Columbia Records’ fastest-selling debut albums to date. The album received critical acclaim for its unique musical style, chemistry between the group members, and the Beasties stylized rapping. Since its release, Licensed to Ill has been ranked by critics as one of the greatest hip-hop and debut albums of all time. She’s Crafty was performed in just 13 concerts. The first known performance was 12/26/1986 at The Ritz in New York and the last known performance was 8/20/1987 at Madison Square Garden. Link to OfficialVideo She’s Crafty Lyrics
