Description

I had to get hurt a lot to write this book, I wish I didn’t, but I had too”, explains Jennifer Woodward, author of Ninety Days Without You. After learning that when she tried to put drugs and alcohol down, she couldn’t. The word co-dependency began to resonate, and the understanding that she liked to be in romantic relationships with people emotionally unavailable.

Taking a deeper dive into her childhood, Jenn learnt that although her parents were there physically, they weren’t there. She didn’t see intimacy modelled between her parents, and she felt emotionally abandoned. “My husband’s early complaint was I would like to spend more time with you, and nobody had ever said that to me”, describes Jenn. Why was looking back on her childhood so beneficial? And how did her triggers, habits and coping mechanisms affect her life?
