We live in a world where we’re taught other things {houses, cars, jobs} or people {spouses, friend} are supposed to make us happy. If we live like that, we’ve completely lost our power to other people or things. Then when you have all those things, you can’t help but ask yourself…’This is it?’

The problem is we want to feel happy, successful, loved, whatever, but we’re not our own source for those feelings.

Getting an amazing job, partner, losing weight are great things to aspire to, but self-development is about being able to feel how we want to feel with or without those things.
