Description

It was during a short period as roommates that Léa Dromas and I (Sacha Picavet) realised that we were both prone to insomnia.

Whether synchronised or out of sync, these moments were for us sort of pauses, moments suspended in the night. It is during this silence that every sound seemed louder.

Both of us are accustomed to working with thread. Whether it is crochet or embroidery, the night offers us an opportunity to practice. What else could we do? Thread arts are a way to occupy time, in keeping with the serenity of the night.

But like the needle that crosses the canvas, the sound repeatedly pierces the peace.

The scratching on the canvas, the scissors that cut the thread, the needles that scratch the fiber before piercing it and the fabrics that are torn create an atmosphere that is in harmony with rest. Which accompanies those who witness it in an almost meditative state.

In this podcast we invite you to accompany us during our insomnia. Join us, through this attention to sounds, to the creation and manipulation of textiles. Immersed in this timeless and sometimes solitary world...
