Aimee shares her story of signing up and competing in IBJJF Masters in Barcelona, having previously lived in Spain for some time. Aimee's primary sport is as a Former Powerlifter, and having come to the end of her competitive Junior career, she shares the commitment of being a competitive athlete to moving through martial arts, and on to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Training in an all-female training space is something that is a priority for Aimee, and the jiu jitsu school she attends. Aimee is proactive in preparing for competition and brings her competitive edge, regardless of in-the-moment challenges. We speak openly about social anxiety and how training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has supported her progress. Listen to the end of the episode where we agree to be matched up and compete together!
