Joanne Wellstead is a Black Belt and together with her Black Belt husband runs Parity Martial Arts. She is also the Founder of ENYO Grappling, the UKs largest Female Jiu Jitsu Invitational. Jo shares the level of care she and her team offer at their family run gym.
Continuing to test herself through competition is really important to Jo, in addition to leading by example and being an inspirational role model. Having just been promoted to Black Belt she feels ultimate pride and accomplishment.
Jo is a really important ambassador in our time, supporting and encouraging more women to start and continue training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, especially as Jo has continued throughout her journey as a Mother of three. She has herself grown on the mats, through the panic attacks and mental health challenges to where she is today, continuing to make change in the sport.
