This recording is from the Sydney Environment Institute's launch of David Schlosberg and Luke Craven’s new book Sustainable Materialism, a work that explores the new wave of sustainability movements that are reclaiming material systems and overturning environmental injustices across the world. Drawing on years of research including activist interviews, Sustainable Materialism explores the political motivations of these movements – frustration with the political status quo, a desire for social and environmental justice and a dedication to local and prefigurative politics.
