What stops a disabled person from hooking up with someone?
My guest this episode is Andrew Gurza. Andrew is dedicated to the same thing as me — removing the barriers that hold people back from having the sex they want. So the answer to that question above is ableism, which is discrimination that favours people who are able-bodied.
From their home in Canada, Andrew told me about their experiences hooking up as a wheelchair user, buying sex work, consulting on TV shows featuring disabled people, and why sex is a part of a person’s overall health needs.
*This episode contains stories and discussion of ableism*
