Well, it's They're Playing with Fire from 1984. It's the story of Professor Diane Stevens in a plot with her husband Michael to strong-arm his mother and grandmother out of their huge house and get all the inheritance money and property early. Diane seduces one of her students, Jay, to help them with this plot. And things go haywire when the two old ladies end up dead at the hands of a mysterious killer. It's someone who has a grudge against the Stevens family. And poor Jay is caught in the middle. Totally sounds like a Dateline episode.
