2 Samuel 9: Lisiados del alma.
2 Samuel 9:1-7 RVA2015:
Entonces David preguntó: —¿Hay todavía alguno que haya quedado de la casa de Saúl, a quien yo muestre bondad por amor a Jonatán? Había un siervo de la casa de Saúl que se llamaba Siba, al cual llamaron a la presencia de David. Y el rey le preguntó: —¿Eres tú Siba? Él respondió: —Tu siervo soy. El rey le preguntó: —¿No queda nadie de la casa de Saúl a quien yo pueda mostrar la bondad de Dios? Siba respondió al rey: —Aún queda un hijo de Jonatán, lisiado de ambos pies. Entonces le preguntó el rey: —¿Dónde está? Siba respondió al rey: —He aquí que está en la casa de Maquir hijo de Amiel, en Lo-debar. El rey David envió a traerlo de la casa de Maquir hijo de Amiel, de Lo-debar. Entonces Mefiboset hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, vino a David, y cayendo sobre su rostro se postró. David le dijo: —¿Mefiboset? Y él respondió: —He aquí tu siervo. David le dijo: —No tengas temor, porque ciertamente yo te mostraré bondad por amor a tu padre Jonatán. Te devolveré todas las tierras de tu padre Saúl, y tú comerás siempre a mi mesa.

En este capítulo vemos una de las historias más conmovedoras de la Biblia. El momento en que David, ya estable y próspero en su reino, recuerda la promesa que le hizo a su gran amigo del alma, Jonatán.
Jonatán había sembrado misericordia cuando protegió y apoyó a David cuando David se encontraba en momentos difíciles. Entre ellos se hicieron la promesa de protegerse y proteger a sus hijos. Jonatán sabía que David sería rey de Israel y por eso prometieron que cuando David estuviera en el trono él tendría misericordia de sus hijos.
David indagó y descubrió que sí existía un descendiente de Jonatán, su hijo Mefiboset, que era lisiado.
David lo mandó a llamar, le restituye todas las tierras que pertenecieron a su familia y todos los días de su vida Mefiboset comió en la mesa de la casa de David como un príncipe de la realeza.
Aquí podemos ver la importancia de sembrar misericordia y bondad en la vida, pues esto no pasará desapercibido ante los ojos de Dios y nuestros hijos serán los beneficiados de todo lo que sembremos, porque Dios es un Dios justo y recuerda todo lo que hayamos hecho en la tierra.
Otra lección es ver que David simbolizó la imagen de nuestro Dios y salvador Jesucristo. De la misma manera, Dios nos ha sacado del anonimato y, aunque éramos lisiados del alma, llenos de heridas causadas por abusos, maltratos y consecuencias de nuestras acciones pecaminosas, Dios se apiadó y nos dio de su amor, llamándonos a su presencia, cambiando nuestras vestiduras de inválidos y sentándonos a su mesa.
Muchas veces esos golpes de la vida que no nos dejan avanzar y vivir vidas libres fueron causados por circunstancias fuera de nuestro alcance; un padre o madre, una persona a la que le dimos nuestro amor y abusó de nuestra inocencia, o un socio que nos traicionó, etc. Malas experiencias y memorias que nos marcaron y no nos dejan continuar con el propósito de Dios para nuestra vidas, y pensamos que todo está acabado, que vino la crisis y nos derrotó.
Hoy el Señor nos recuerda que Él nos sienta a su mesa, nos llama por nuestro nombre, nos reconoce y adopta como su hijos, restaura lo que hemos perdido y nos colma de favores y misericordias.
Espero que hoy puedas venir a la mesa del Gran Rey y disfrutar de sus promesas, como dice en Apocalipsis 3:20: “He aquí, yo estoy a la puerta y llamo; si alguno oye mi voz y abre la puerta, entraré a él, y cenaré con él, y él conmigo.”

2 Samuel 9: Soul cripples.
2 Samuel 9:1-7:
Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” He said, “At your service!” Then the king said, “Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet.” So the king said to him, “Where is he?” And Ziba said to the king, “Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar.” Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar. Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, “Mephibosheth?” And he answered, “Here is your servant!” So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.”

In this chapter we see one of the most moving stories in the Bible. The moment when David, already stable and prosperous in his kingdom, remembers the promise he made to his great soul friend, Jonathan.
Jonathan had sown mercy when he protected and supported David when David was in difficult times. They made a promise to each other to protect themselves and their children. Jonathan knew that David would be king of Israel and so they promised that when David was on the throne he would have mercy on his sons.
David inquired and discovered that there was indeed a descendant of Jonathan, his son Mephibosheth, who was crippled.
David sent for him, restored to him all the lands that belonged to his family and all the days of his life Mephibosheth ate at the table of David's house like a royal prince.
Here we can see the importance of sowing mercy and goodness in life, because this will not go unnoticed in the eyes of God and our children will be the beneficiaries of everything we sow, because God is a just God and remembers everything we have done in the earth.
Another lesson is to see that David symbolized the image of our God and savior Jesus Christ. In the same way, God has taken us out of anonymity and, although we were crippled in the soul, full of wounds caused by abuse, mistreatment and consequences of our sinful actions, God took compassion and gave us His love, calling us into His presence, changing our crippled garments and sitting us at His table.
Many times those blows of life that do not let us move forward and live free lives were caused by circumstances beyond our reach; a father or mother, a person to whom we gave our love and abused our innocence, or a partner who betrayed us, etc. Bad experiences and memories that marked us and do not allow us to continue with God's purpose for our lives, and we think that everything is over, that the crisis has come and defeated us.
Today the Lord reminds us that He sits us at His table, calls us by name, recognizes us and adopts us as His children, restores what we have lost and fills us with favors and mercies.
I hope that today you can come to the table of the Great King and enjoy His promises, as He says in Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
