Genesis 29 En la aflicción eleva una alabanza
Génesis 29:21-35 RVA2015:
Entonces Jacob dijo a Labán: —Entrégame mi mujer para que conviva con ella, porque mi plazo se ha cumplido. Entonces Labán reunió a todos los hombres de aquel lugar e hizo un banquete. Y sucedió que en la noche tomó a su hija Lea y se la trajo, y él se unió a ella. (Labán dio su sierva Zilpa a su hija Lea, como sierva). Y al llegar la mañana, ¡he aquí que era Lea! Entonces él dijo a Labán: —¿Por qué me has hecho esto? ¿No he trabajado para ti por Raquel? ¿Por qué, pues, me has engañado? Y Labán respondió: —No se acostumbra en nuestro lugar dar la menor antes que la mayor. Cumple la semana de esta, y después se te dará también la otra por el trabajo que harás para mí durante otros siete años. Jacob lo hizo así; y después de cumplir esa semana, Labán le dio también a su hija Raquel por mujer. (Labán dio su sierva Bilha a su hija Raquel, como sierva). Jacob se unió también a Raquel, y la amó más que a Lea. Y trabajó para Labán otros siete años. Viendo el SEÑOR que Lea era menospreciada, le concedió hijos. Pero Raquel era estéril. Lea concibió y dio a luz un hijo, y llamó su nombre Rubén, pues dijo: “Porque el SEÑOR ha visto mi aflicción, ciertamente ahora me amará mi marido”. Concibió otra vez y dio a luz un hijo, y dijo: “Porque el SEÑOR ha oído que yo era menospreciada, me ha dado también este”. Y llamó su nombre Simeón. Concibió otra vez y dio a luz un hijo, y dijo: “Ahora esta vez mi marido se sentirá ligado a mí, porque le he dado tres hijos”. Por eso llamó su nombre Leví. Concibió otra vez y dio a luz un hijo, y dijo: “Esta vez alabaré al SEÑOR”. Por eso llamó su nombre Judá. Y dejó de dar a luz.
Jacob, como no tenía ninguna clase de propiedades y riquezas, hizo un trato con su tío Labán para casarse con Raquel, después de trabajar para él por 7 años.
Asumo que Labán pensó que durante esos siete años su hija mayor conseguiría con quién casarse pero al no ser así, él engañó a Jacob dándole su hija mayor. En la mañana Jacob se dió cuenta que fue engañado; entonces, Labán lo convenció para que trabaje otros siete años para él y con esa condición le daría a su hija menor.
Así como Jacob se acostumbró a engañar, él recibió las consecuencias de su engaño porque lo que uno siembra, cosecha.
Pero hoy quiero que nos enfoquemos en la injusticia que recibió Lea, pues Jacob amó más a Raquel que a Lea, y por eso Lea se sentía afligida y adolorida. Ella pensó que dándole hijos a Jacob iba a ganar su corazón pero se dio cuenta que no era así. Ella pensó que dándole el primogénito, que fue Rubén, Jacob iba a reaccionar diferente. Después le dio el segundo hijo, Raquel todavía no le daba hijos. Al segundo le puso Leví. Jacob siguió con su misma actitud de indiferencia y le dedicó más tiempo a Raquel.
Entonces, hubo un cambio en el pensamiento de Lea: ella decidió descargar su frustración y su aflicción al Dios Todopoderoso. Es por eso que ella queda embarazada otra vez y llamó a su tercer hijo Judá, que significa alabanza. Ella declaró: "alabaré al Señor".
Pienso que la actitud de Lea le ayudó a poder soportar ese conflicto familiar, la disfunción en su matrimonio.
Cuando te encuentres en circunstancias difíciles, descarga todas tus preocupaciones al Señor. Cuando adoras a Dios en medio de la prueba, esa adoración actúa como ungüento al alma herida, como medicina para el espíritu, trae reposo a tu mente y recibes de la presencia de Dios refrigerio por medio de su Santo Espíritu. El Señor escucha tu clamor y mira tu necesidad, pero cuando conviertes tu queja en una expresión de adoración, se convierte ante la presencia de Dios como un perfume agradable, y el Señor se agradará de ti.
Los hijos de Lea fueron grandes tribus importantes en el pueblo de Israel. La tribu de Rubén fue una de las más grandes numéricamente. La tribu de Leví fue la tribu escogida para ser sacerdotes. La tribu de Judá fue la tribu del rey David, quien fue un instrumento especial en las manos de Dios para restaurar la vida espiritual del pueblo de Israel y fue el rey más influyente en la historia bíblica. Y no solo eso, sino que ¡el Salvador del mundo, el Mesías, nuestro Señor Jesucristo, descendió del linaje de Judá!
Así que, no te cargues más con cargas pesadas. Dejala a los pies del Señor y más bien levanta un cántico, una alabanza al Señor.
Hebreos 13:15 dice: "Así que, por medio de él, ofrezcamos siempre a Dios sacrificio de alabanza; es decir, fruto de labios que confiesan su nombre."
Escudriñemos.
Usa el método llamado VISUALÍZALO, recrea en tu mente cómo se sentía Lea y también el momento en que ella tomó la decisión de comenzar a alabar a Dios.

Genesis 29. In the midst of your affliction praise the Lord.
Let's read the last part of this chapter. Don't forget to read it completely.
Genesis 29:21-35 NLT:
Finally, the time came for him to marry her. “I have fulfilled my agreement,” Jacob said to Laban. “Now give me my wife so I can sleep with her.”
So Laban invited everyone in the neighborhood and prepared a wedding feast. But that night, when it was dark, Laban took Leah to Jacob, and he slept with her. (Laban had given Leah a servant, Zilpah, to be her maid.)
But when Jacob woke up in the morning—it was Leah! “What have you done to me?” Jacob raged at Laban. “I worked seven years for Rachel! Why have you tricked me?”
“It’s not our custom here to marry off a younger daughter ahead of the firstborn,” Laban replied. “But wait until the bridal week is over; then we’ll give you Rachel, too—provided you promise to work another seven years for me.”
So Jacob agreed to work seven more years. A week after Jacob had married Leah, Laban gave him Rachel, too. (Laban gave Rachel a servant, Bilhah, to be her maid.) So Jacob slept with Rachel, too, and he loved her much more than Leah. He then stayed and worked for Laban the additional seven years.
When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, he enabled her to have children, but Rachel could not conceive. So Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben, for she said, “The Lord has noticed my misery, and now my husband will love me.”
She soon became pregnant again and gave birth to another son. She named him Simeon, for she said, “The Lord heard that I was unloved and has given me another son.”
Then she became pregnant a third time and gave birth to another son. He was named Levi, for she said, “Surely this time my husband will feel affection for me, since I have given him three sons!”
Once again Leah became pregnant and gave birth to another son. She named him Judah, for she said, “Now I will praise the Lord!” And then she stopped having children.
Jacob, as he did not have any kind of property and wealth, made a deal with his uncle Laban to marry Rachel, after working for him for 7 years.
I assume that Laban thought that during those seven years his eldest daughter would get someone to marry but when she didn't, he tricked Jacob into giving him his eldest daughter. In the morning Jacob realized that he was deceived; So, Laban convinced him to work another seven years for him and with that condition he would give him his youngest daughter.
Just as Jacob got used to cheating, he received the consequences of his cheating because what one sows, one reaps.
But today I want us to focus on the injustice that Leah received, because Jacob loved Rachel more than Leah, and that is why Leah felt afflicted and hurt. She thought that giving Jacob children would win his heart but she realized that it was not. She thought that by giving her the firstborn, which was Reuben, Jacob would react differently. Later she gave him the second son, Rachel still did not give him children. The second she named Levi. Jacob continued with his same attitude of indifference and dedicated more time to Rachel.
Then there was a change in Leah's thinking: she decided to take out her frustration and grief on Almighty God. That is why she becomes pregnant again and named her third son Judah, which means praise. She declared: "I will praise the Lord."
I think Leah's attitude helped her cope with that family conflict, the dysfunction in her marriage.
When you find yourself in difficult circumstances, turn all your worries over to the Lord. When you worship God in the midst of trial, that worship acts as an ointment to the wounded soul, as medicine for the spirit, it brings rest to your mind and you receive refreshment from the presence of God through His Holy Spirit. The Lord hears your cry and sees your need, but when you turn your complaint into an expression of worship, it becomes in the presence of God like a pleasant perfume, and the Lord will be pleased with you.
The children of Leah were great important tribes in the people of Israel. Reuben's tribe was one of the largest numerically. The tribe of Levi was the chosen tribe to be priests. The tribe of Judah was the tribe of king David, who was a special instrument in God's hands to restore the spiritual life of the people of Israel and was the most influential king in biblical history. And not only that, but the Savior of the world, the Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ, descended from the lineage of Judah!
So, don't burden yourself with heavy loads anymore. Leave it at the feet of the Lord and rather raise a song, a praise to the Lord.
Hebrews 13:15 says: “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” (NKJV).
Let's scrutinize.
Use the method called VISUALIZE IT, recreate in your mind how Leah felt and also the moment when she made the decision to start praising God.
