Números 26: Preparando una nueva generación.
Números 26:1-11:
Aconteció después de la mortandad que el SEÑOR habló a Moisés y a Eleazar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón, diciendo: “Hagan un censo de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, de veinte años para arriba, según sus casas paternas, de todos los que en Israel puedan ir a la guerra”.
Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar les hablaron en las llanuras de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó, diciendo: “Cuenten al pueblo de veinte años para arriba, como el SEÑOR ha mandado a Moisés”.
Los hijos de Israel que habían salido de la tierra de Egipto fueron: Rubén, primogénito de Israel. Los hijos de Rubén fueron: de Enoc, el clan de los enoquitas; de Falú, el clan de los faluitas; de Hesrón, el clan de los hesronitas; de Carmi, el clan de los carmitas. Estos son los clanes de los rubenitas. Los contados de ellos fueron cuarenta y tres mil setecientos treinta. Hijo de Falú fue Eliab, y los hijos de Eliab fueron: Nemuel, Datán y Abiram. Estos, Datán y Abiram, eran los nombrados de la congregación que contendieron contra Moisés y Aarón, con el grupo de Coré, cuando contendieron contra el SEÑOR; y la tierra abrió su boca y se los tragó a ellos y a Coré. Y los de aquel grupo murieron cuando el fuego consumió a doscientos cincuenta hombres, los cuales sirvieron de escarmiento, aunque los hijos de Coré no murieron.
Números 26:63-65:
Estos fueron los contados por Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar, quienes contaron a los hijos de Israel en las llanuras de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó. Entre estos no se hallaba ni uno de los contados por Moisés y por el sacerdote Aarón, quienes contaron a los hijos de Israel en el desierto de Sinaí; porque el SEÑOR les había dicho: “Ciertamente morirán en el desierto”. No quedó, pues, ninguno de ellos, excepto Caleb hijo de Jefone y Josué hijo de Nun.

En estos capítulos donde se describen las genealogías encontramos grandes detalles acerca de eventos admirables o trágicos que ocurrieron a ciertos personajes. También vemos quienes eran los padres o los hijos de personajes importantes.
En esta lista vemos lo que ocurrió a familias enteras que perecieron por su rebeldía como algunas familias de Rubén. También algunos líderes de la tribu de Levi como Coré, Datán y Abiram que perecieron.
Aquí vemos la misericordia de Dios que no destruyó a los hijos de Coré. Posiblemente se apartaron de su padre y no participaron de su rebeldía. De ellos vemos que sus descendientes se convirtieron en una generación de adoradores, escribiendo varios salmos y participando en la adoración en el tabernáculo en el tiempo de David.
Al final del capítulo vemos cómo Dios dirigió a Moisés para que vaya preparando a esta nueva generación que sí creyó en la promesa del Señor de que les daría una tierra de abundancia. El Señor primero le ordenó hacer un censo de los sobrevivientes de aquel pueblo que salió de Egipto, se movilizó en medio de un desierto peligroso, cuando les faltó comida y agua, Dios les suplió de toda sus necesidades, los guardó de ser exterminados por otros pueblos y los perdonó muchas veces cuando fueron infieles.
Ahora, sus descendientes estaban al frente, otra vez en el mismo lugar donde sus padres estuvieron casi 40 años atrás cuando rechazaron entrar a la tierra prometida.
Esta generación había aprendido la lección del precio que pagaron sus padres y esta vez estaban preparados para entrar y conquistar la tierra. Conforme al número de sus tribus y clanes, Dios estableció el orden de la cantidad de terreno que recibirán. Moisés fue diligente en dejar que esta nueva generación estuviera lista para experimentar a plenitud el cumplimiento de la gran promesa del Señor.
Qué importante es, como líderes de nuestro hogar, poder transmitir estas promesas del Señor, que nuestra generación continúe con lo que Dios comenzó en nosotros. Que todo lo que tu emprendas, tus hijos lo sigan; que tu ministerio en el que sirves al Señor, tus hijos lo puedan continuar y hacerlo más grande. Que tus acciones sean amplificadas y magnificadas por tus hijos.
Si tus padres no fueron fieles al Señor o no tomaron una actitud de fe para creer al Señor, o no han tomado una actitud activa en el servicio al Señor, ¡tú puedes hacer la diferencia! ¡Puedes ser esa nueva generación que se levanta llevando la bandera de Jesús delante de sus vidas y alcanzar grandes cosas para Dios!
Sé parte de la nueva generación que, en vez de mirar hacia atrás, hacia Egipto, tú seas de los que miran hacia adelante a lo que Dios tiene preparado para ti.

Numbers 26: Preparing a new generation.
Numbers 26:1-11:
And it came to pass, after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying: “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel from twenty years old and above, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go to war in Israel.” So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying: “Take a census of the people from twenty years old and above, just as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel who came out of the land of Egypt.”
Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. The children of Reuben were: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites. These are the families of the Reubenites: those who were numbered of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty. And the son of Pallu was Eliab. The sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are the Dathan and Abiram, representatives of the congregation, who contended against Moses and Aaron in the company of Korah, when they contended against the Lord; and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died, when the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign. Nevertheless the children of Korah did not die.
Numbers 26:63-65:
These are those who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho. But among these there was not a man of those who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest when they numbered the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Sinai. For the Lord had said of them, “They shall surely die in the wilderness.” So there was not left a man of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

In these chapters where the genealogies are described we find great details about admirable or tragic events that happened to certain characters. We also see who were the parents or children of important characters.
In this list we see what happened to entire families that perished for their rebellion like some of Reuben's families. Also some leaders of the tribe of Levi like Korah, Dathan and Abiram who perished.
Here we see the mercy of God that did not destroy the sons of Korah. Possibly they separated from their father and did not participate in his rebellion. From them we see that their descendants became a generation of worshippers, writing various psalms and participating in the worship at the tabernacle in David's time.
At the end of the chapter we see how God directed Moses to prepare this new generation that did believe in the Lord's promise that He would give them a land of abundance. The Lord first ordered him to take a census of the survivors of that people who left Egypt, mobilized in the middle of a dangerous desert, when they lacked food and water, God supplied them with all their needs, kept them from being exterminated by others peoples and forgave them many times when they were unfaithful.
Now, their descendants were in the forefront, again in the same place where their parents stood almost 40 years ago when they refused to enter the promised land.
This generation had learned the lesson of the price their fathers paid and this time they were ready to enter and conquer the land. According to the number of their tribes and clans, God established the order of the amount of land they will receive. Moses was diligent in letting this new generation be ready to fully experience the fulfillment of the Lord's great promise.
How important it is, as leaders of our home, to be able to transmit these promises of the Lord, that our generation continue with what God began in us. That everything you undertake, your children follow; that your ministry in which you serve the Lord, your children can continue it and make it bigger. That your actions be amplified and magnified by your children.
If your parents were not faithful to the Lord or did not take an attitude of faith to believe the Lord, or have not taken an active attitude in serving the Lord, you can make a difference! You can be that new generation that rises up carrying the banner of Jesus in front of their lives and achieve great things for God!
Be part of the new generation that, instead of looking back towards Egypt, you are one of those who look forward to what God has prepared for you.
