Números 35: Ten cuidado con los impulsos fatales.
Números 35:16-28 RVA2015:
“‘Si lo hiere con un instrumento de hierro, y él muere, es un asesino. El asesino morirá irremisiblemente. “‘Si lo hiere con una piedra, con la cual pueda causarle la muerte, y él muere, es un asesino. El asesino morirá irremisiblemente. “‘Si lo hiere con instrumento de madera, con el cual pueda causarle la muerte, y él muere, es un asesino. El asesino morirá irremisiblemente. El vengador de la sangre matará al asesino; cuando lo encuentre, lo matará. “‘Si por odio lo empuja o arroja algo contra él intencionadamente, y él muere; o si por hostilidad lo hiere con su mano, y él muere, el que lo ha herido morirá irremisiblemente. Es un asesino. El vengador de la sangre matará al asesino cuando lo encuentre. “‘Pero si lo empuja de repente sin hostilidad, o tira sobre él cualquier instrumento sin intención, o si sin verlo hace caer sobre él alguna piedra que pueda causarle la muerte, y él muere, no siendo él su enemigo ni procurando su mal, entonces la congregación juzgará entre el homicida y el vengador de la sangre, conforme a estos decretos. La congregación librará al homicida de mano del vengador de la sangre, y lo hará regresar a su ciudad de refugio a la cual había huido, y él habitará en ella hasta la muerte del sumo sacerdote que fue ungido con el aceite santo. “‘Pero si el homicida sale fuera de los límites de su ciudad de refugio a donde había huido, y el vengador de la sangre lo halla fuera de los límites de su ciudad de refugio y mata al homicida, aquel no será culpable de sangre. Porque debió haber permanecido en su ciudad de refugio hasta la muerte del sumo sacerdote. Después de la muerte del sumo sacerdote, el homicida podrá volver a la tierra de su posesión.

En la ley de Moisés se establece el orden para poder proteger al que por accidente, sin intención, mata a un compañero de trabajo o una persona.
Alrededor del territorio se establecieron ciudades de refugio para que ahí se fuera a vivir el causante del accidente y se protegiera de algún ataque de venganza de un familiar del fallecido. Al morir el sumo sacerdote de la ciudad de refugio la persona quedaba libre y comenzaba una nueva vida.
Es importante aclarar que el que causó muerte intencionalmente por odio o envidia o cualquier sentimiento negativo no estaría eximido del castigo máximo, que era la pena de muerte.
No era aceptable dejarse llevar por un impulso y quitarle la vida a alguien tirándole una piedra, un madero o metal, o empujándolo a un barranco.
Igualmente, debemos controlar nuestros impulsos. Por un arranque de ira podemos herir física o emocionalmente a un ser querido. Tanto el maltrato físico como las palabras ofensivas dejan marcas en el cuerpo y en el alma, rompiendo los lazos fraternales de confianza, respeto y amor.
Un arranque de tristeza y de dolor nos puede empujar a cometer acciones que después nos vamos a lamentar. Frustraciones con el esposo o esposa, o con alguno de los hijos podría impulsarnos a acciones nefastas.
Espero que esta reflexión te muestre la importancia de controlar los impulsos y emociones negativos que destruyen lo más precioso que tienes: tu familia.
Tal vez hoy no sufras el castigo de muerte por alguna acción que ha afectado emocionalmente y espiritualmente a un miembro de tu familia, pero ten en cuenta que esa acción dañina entristece al Espíritu de Dios y lo vas alejar de tu vida y de tu hogar; convirtiéndote en un obstáculo para las bendiciones de Dios, o peor, caer de la gracia de Dios y hasta perder tu salvación.
No pienses que este mensaje llegó tarde a tu vida. Si has cometido errores, te invito para que entres a la ciudad de refugio llamada Jesucristo. El enemigo quiere destruirte usando tu pasado y tus errores; nunca es tarde para arrepentirse y pedir perdón a Dios y a las personas a las que le causaste daño. Hazlo pronto antes que sea demasiado tarde.
El Señor te redimirá y te dará una nueva oportunidad. Nuestro Sumo Sacerdote, que es JesúCristo, murió por nosotros para que nosotros podamos tener una nueva oportunidad en nuestras vidas, en nuestros matrimonios, con nuestros hijos, con Dios.
En conclusión, toma el control de ti mismo. Desarrolla el dominio propio, piensa en las consecuencias eternas por una reacción de unos segundos.

Numbers 35:16-28:
‘But if he strikes him with an iron implement, so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. And if he strikes him with a stone in the hand, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. Or if he strikes him with a wooden hand weapon, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. The avenger of blood himself shall put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death. If he pushes him out of hatred or, while lying in wait, hurls something at him so that he dies, or in enmity he strikes him with his hand so that he dies, the one who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
‘However, if he pushes him suddenly without enmity, or throws anything at him without lying in wait, or uses a stone, by which a man could die, throwing it at him without seeing him, so that he dies, while he was not his enemy or seeking his harm, then the congregation shall judge between the manslayer and the avenger of blood according to these judgments. So the congregation shall deliver the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge where he had fled, and he shall remain there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil. But if the manslayer at any time goes outside the limits of the city of refuge where he fled, and the avenger of blood finds him outside the limits of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood, because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the manslayer may return to the land of his possession.

In the law of Moses, an order is established to protect someone who accidentally, unintentionally, kills a co-worker or a person.
Cities of refuge were established around the territory so that the person who caused the accident could live there and protect himself from any revenge attack by a relative of the deceased. When the high priest of the city of refuge died, the person was set free and began a new life.
It is important to clarify that the person who intentionally caused death out of hatred or envy or any negative feeling would not be exempt from the maximum punishment, which was the death penalty.
It was not acceptable to be carried away by impulse and take someone's life by throwing a stone, a piece of wood or metal, or pushing them into a ravine.
Likewise, we must control our impulses. For a fit of anger we can physically or emotionally hurt a loved one. Both physical abuse and offensive words leave marks on the body and soul, breaking the fraternal bonds of trust, respect and love.
An outburst of sadness and pain can push us to commit actions that we will later regret. Frustrations with the husband or wife, or with one of the children could drive us to harmful actions.
I hope this reflection shows you the importance of controlling negative impulses and emotions that destroy the most precious thing you have: your family.
Perhaps today you will not suffer the punishment of death for some action that has emotionally and spiritually affected a member of your family, but keep in mind that this harmful action saddens the Spirit of God and you will remove Him from your life and from your home; becoming an obstacle to God's blessings, or worse, falling from God's grace and even losing your salvation.
Do not think that this message came late to your life. If you have made mistakes, I invite you to enter the city of refuge called Jesus Christ. The enemy wants to destroy you using your past and your mistakes; it is never too late to repent and ask for forgiveness to God and to the people you hurt. Do it soon before it is too late.
The Lord will redeem you and give you a new opportunity. Our High Priest, who is Jesus Christ, died for us so that we can have a new opportunity in our lives, in our marriages, with our children, with God.
In conclusion, take control of yourself. Develop self-control, think of the eternal consequences for a reaction of a few seconds.
