Description

Dr. John Hyland is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human and Social Sciences at DBS, and a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society. His research centres mainly on three core areas; behaviour change and decision-making; health-related quality of life and well-being; and child and adolescent school victimisation. He is currently working with international and national colleagues on research such as factors which influence third-level teaching teachers understanding and use of contingency management in education; hostility, rage, and shame quitting in gaming; and homophobic attitudes in music and lyrics. Dr. Hyland is a current member and former chair of the DBS research ethics committee, and a member of both the DBS applied research and practice committee, and the DBS academic board.
