After enduring confusing and painful experiences, Roy was ultimately diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Through prayer, professional counseling, and unrelenting faith, he began a journey of healing that led him to his calling: advocating for veterans and expressing the complexities of life through poetry.
Now based in New Jersey, Roy dedicates his time to supporting fellow veterans and educating civilians on how to cultivate more compassionate relationships with those impacted by war-related trauma. In this episode, he shares powerful insights and reads some of his favorite original poems, offering a window into the soul of a man whose journey to purpose was anything but ordinary.
