Breaking the Silence

Barbara A. F. Brehon, host

Michelle Jewsbury, guest

Growing up with a military father, Michelle Dewsbury lived in 4 or 5 different states. She wanted to become a movie star and moved to Hollywood, CA. After experiencing trauma, she wrote a play about it. “It’s not about what we go through, it’s about how we react…” She talks about turning adversities into movements. She once felt trapped, yet Michelle overcame her past after reading her own writing. She expressed herself in writing, thereby saying “yes” to what God wanted her to do. Look back and learn from your past. Stay consistent and persistent to accomplish your goals. Express yourself.

Michelle Jewsbury is an international philanthropist, speaker, author, and coach. In July 2017, Michelle founded Unsilenced Voices, a 501(c)3 nonprofit focused on inspiring change in communities around the globe by encouraging victims to break free and survivors to speak up about domestic violence and sexual assault. Her desire to help victims of domestic abuse came from personal experience in such a relationship. She has since completed and published her personal memoir, But I Love Him. Recognized as a valuable resource in the speaking industry, Michelle Jewsbury is the go to professional speaker who uses her story of survival as encouragement and motivation for others. With a confident yet calming approach, Michelle’s story makes a lasting impression on the audience and gives them the Power to Take Their Lives Back!
