Dennis Allen states that there is huge tension in American Christianity: the institution of the church and the mission of the church that Christ gave us. The tradition of running a church distracts people from being a disciple. The dilemma is the tension between the true mission of the church and the business of running the church. Do we keep on doing partial discipleship that creates distractions to those outside of the church. Our first job is to invite people to meet Christ rather than continue with embedded non biblical traditions that shortchange what a disciple is. Dennis is a CEO recruited by Wall Street firms to right struggling companies. His leadership and strategy career stems not only from his time in corporate America, but also roles in small, mid, and mega churches as an Elder, teacher, small group leader, and speaker. Dennis served as an Air Force fighter and instructor pilot in the USAF F-15 “Eagle” – all of which schooled him in his followership of Christ. Dennis has a BS in Industrial Management from the University of Alabama, an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH and he’s an alumnus of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.
