ODJB play Toddlin' Blues, Indiana, Darktown Strutter's Ball, At the Jazz Band Ball, Clarinet Marmalade, Tiger Rag, Some of These Days, Satanic Blues, Margie, Bluin' the Blues, Dixie Jass Band One-Step, and Sweet Mama (Papa's Getting Mad). Also on the program are Frank Ferrera, Alfred Cortot, The All Star Trio, Bert Williams and George Walker. Here is a somewhat flawed capricious presentation of the tunes by breaking up the momentum but to play them all straight through is also dangerous.
As much as these are the original classic tunes these original versions are usually more difficult to enjoy than the reworking by bands over the past century including NORK and Bix. the ODJB would maybe laugh at the need to double their size to get louder but maybe the large ballrooms would not have been so hospitable. Their counterpoint remains the basis for a kind of jazz that would go in the direction of Dixieland, their name, jazz, their name, and stick as a permanent living music like polka or swing from the tunes they wrote and played.
