This week I will be chatting with Dan Wheatley, of the band Ibex.
Ibex frontman Daniel Wheatley is a melodic guitar player with dynamic , full range vocals. Combined with poetic writing , makes for an emotional performance. Daniel began singing in productions at the age of 10 , picking up guitar at the age of fourteen and writing his first song at 15. As of yet, no solo music has been released. Daniel writes songs for Ibex and as a band they rearrange and create a sound that is respective of their individual influences. From working in events as a Backline Technician/Sound Engineer , to playing on stages for the past 16 years and Producing bands/Composing , producing audio for Film. Daniel focuses on his own narrative of perfection, always trying to improve his sound and approach. Daniels draws influence from Jeff Buckley and John Martin to Radiohead and Sound-garden as well as Elliot smith and many other artists.
Ibex will be releasing their latest single ‘Endless’ on the 2nd of June along with a show in Workmans on the 9th of June!
