Clare is an accomplished novelist, editor and critic, as well as one of the UK's greatest living poets. (This does not stop Daniel from trying to argue in favour of some very ropey lyrics). She has published five collections of poetry, a biography-memoir-critical look at children's books, and this year alone has published two novels.
