In this episode, Haochen Wang (HT24 President-Elect) speaks to Michael Bristow. Michael is the current Asia/Pacific editor for the BBC World Service in London and previously was a BBC correspondent in Beijing, where he covered everything from earthquakes to the 2008 Summer Olympics. He has also written a book, China in Drag: Travels with a Cross-dresser, a story of his language teacher that serves as a metaphor for China’s development. In this interview, Micheal discusses his path to becoming a foreign correspondent, his experiences in China, and advice for aspiring journalists.
