Once the heart of a thriving monastic community in County Offaly, Ireland, Seir Kieran's origins trace back to the 5th century when St. Ciarán, a pivotal figure in Irish Christianity, founded it. After decades of study in Rome and a fateful encounter with St. Patrick, Ciarán returned to Ireland to establish his church, guided by a miraculous clapperless bell. Over the centuries, Seir Kieran witnessed the comings and goings of kings, the upheavals of Viking raids, and the shifting ecclesiastical power that saw its influence wane and wax.
